3 Sourcing Tips for Hiring in 2021

Hiring the right people is key to any successful business. It takes a lot of time and effort to find that skilled candidate that will be the right fit for your team.

Before you post that next job ad on Indeed, here are 3 quick and easy hiring tips you should remember to help you get the most out of your job listing.

3 Easy & Essential Hiring Tips for Sourcing Candidates
Tip 1: Sell your company

Make sure your job ad is descriptive and sells the benefits of the company as well as the job. You should answer the question, “Why do I want to work here” within your ad. You need to think like a job seeker and let them know why your business is a great place to work. Be sure to highlight these aspects in your ad (along with the job description & skills needed, of course.)

Start off the job ad with an attention grabbing headline.

Are you an Awesome Software Designer looking for a new challenge? Are you ready to set your own schedule and create programs that change the way people do business?

Think about the unique advantages your company/the position offers to potential employees and be sure to add a section to the job ad that highlights these features.

Reasons why you’ll love working at CompanyABC

  • 24/7 Access to our leadership development coaches
  • Competitive wages
  • Career advancement programs
  • Top notch benefits package
  • Diverse company culture
  • Unlimited growth capabilities
  • Set your own schedule
  • Friendly atmosphere
  • Employee Perks program
  • Be a part of our global impact project

This section can be combined with your normal benefits section, but should try to be more than the normal, boring lingo.
Tip 2: Post Job Openings to Multiple Job Boards

Increase your chances of getting noticed by top candidates by posting to multiple job boards, or using a hiring management tool to do it for you. Top places to post jobs include LinkedIn, Indeed, Glassdoor, etc.

To make it easier, try managing all the resumes and responses out of one dedicated inbox (create a new email address just for recruiting) or use an ATS (applicant tracking system) to keep it all organized. Saving time on managing all the applicants and resumes will let you focus on finding that next perfect hire.

Be sure to re-post the job opening every 2 weeks to keep it at the top of the list (if your hiring management tool doesn’t already do this 😉).

Tip 3: Ask Co-Workers & other Employees to Share the Job on Social Networks

Get employees to share openings on social media & social professional networks.

Employee referrals are great, as those placements tend to last longer and are usually more productive employees. Word of mouth is a great recruiting tool – so recruit your current staff to spread the word. Some job ad pages include attention grabbing graphics with the link – so test it out on all the social platforms – or create your own digital hiring graphic for the company to share.

Here are a couple different “We’re Hiring” graphics we launched this week for social sharing.

And those are our 3 quick and easy hiring tips for sourcing candidates. There is obviously a lot more that goes into finding the right candidate for the job. Explore our blog and resource sections for more hiring tips and information.
